The Polestar 3 is quickly becoming a top choice among new electric vehicles in 2025. After arriving in the United States. late last year, it helped the Swedish brand see a 76 percent increase in global sales. Customers are noticing not just the SUV’s design and features but also some major savings.
This blog covers the 2025 Polestar Sales Surge, focusing on the impact of the Polestar 3 SUV, buyer incentives, and growing brand popularity.
The Polestar 3 became available in the U.S. for its first full quarter in early 2025. Sales rose sharply, from just under 7,000 in Q1 2024 to over 12,000 in Q1 2025.
The brand did not list sales by model, but experts say the Polestar 3 is the key reason for this growth.
The performance or size does not just draw in buyers (including those of the 2024 Tesla Model 3 model). Many have shared that the Polestar 3 feels different from regular electric vehicles. The brand focuses on quality materials, solid design, and a driving experience that feels more enjoyable.
According to Polestar’s U.S. Head of Sales, Jordan Hofmann, people are impressed that the car feels more than just a way to get from one place to another.
The Polestar 3 is built to balance power with comfort. It comes with two electric motors, offering 489 horsepower and 620 lb-ft of torque.
These options can also add extra tech, comfort features, and safety tools. The SUV has an all-wheel drive, and its battery has a strong 111.0 kWh capacity, helping it go far on a single charge.
A big reason buyers are considering the Polestar 3 is the pricing help they can get. The base price starts at $67,500, but many customers qualify for special lease offers. One current deal gives a $15,000 clean vehicle credit for leasing.
If a customer currently owns a Tesla, Polestar adds another $5,000 in conquest cash. That brings the lease cost to under $600 per month after a $5,000 down payment.
Some Tesla owners have started looking for other brands after Elon Musk’s political moves. Polestar seems to be benefiting from this shift. Their conquest program offers extra cash to people trading in their Teslas.
Hofmann said that the company began this program in February and continued it through March and April.
The Polestar 3 (Read more about Polestar 3 Long Range Model Launches in US here) was revealed in October 2022, and it got many early orders. Surprisingly, recent months have seen even more interest than during its first reveal.
Hofmann said it proves that the SUV was released at the right time. The U.S. market still loves SUVs, and electric versions are now more welcomed than ever before.
Polestar is planning more models to keep buyers interested. The Polestar 4 will be a mix between a hatchback and an SUV. The Polestar 7, a smaller SUV, is coming next and will replace the Polestar 2.
There is also the Polestar 5, a fastback-style sedan, arriving soon. The Polestar 6, a convertible, will come later and may appeal more to fans than everyday buyers.
Even with growing sales, Polestar still needs to manage future problems. The company doubled its lineup from one car to two, so a jump in sales was expected.
Also, Q1 2024 was a slow quarter, so that helps the 76 percent rise. Like other young EV brands, Polestar needs to grow production to bring down costs.
The Polestar 3 is making a name for itself in a busy electric vehicle market. Its smart design, strong performance, and unique lease offers are bringing in new buyers, especially those leaving Tesla.
